Wow this was such an awesome wedding to get to work on! Kaley was such a sweetheart who trusted me to collaborate with her and make her vision of “big, wild and green” come to life, while Mark is a Jet Ski World Champion who arrived to his wedding ceremony on a jet ski and did a full flip! Was an amazing thing to witness! I loved this couple, the flower choices and all the little details that went in to their big day!
Kaley’s vision of her wedding flowers were “big, wild and green”, totally NOT the typical. I won’t lie, I was a bit scared to take this on as I’m more comfortable with more traditional florals but I was ecstatic with how it all turned out and even more so when Kaley told me I “nailed it”!
Kaley showed me a picture of what she wanted for her bridal bouquet and I have to say I think I came pretty darn close to replicating it! Kaley’s bridal bouquet was made with lambs ear, black privet berries, white astilbe, Queen Anne’s lace, Brunia silver and seeded eucalyptus greenery stem wrapped with a bridal white satin ribbon with long streamer hanging down the front. This was definitely WAY out of my comfort zone but I can honestly say one of my favorite bridal bouquets I made in 2019 by far!
Kaley also wore a flower crown on her blond locks made with silver dollar and seeded eucalyptus greenery, black privet berries, white spray roses, thistle and Brunia silver! OBSESSED!
Kaley’s nine bridesmaid’s bouquets were just as unconventional as hers (and I was OBSESSED with these too)! The bouquets were made with seeded eucalyptus, lambs ear, thistle, jasmine vine and an amazing giant air plant right in the middle! So incredible! The girls also wore flower crowns and they were made from both seeded and silver dollar eucalyptus and white spray roses. I loved how the bouquets and flower crowns really helped add to the simplicity of the girls’ attire of tank tops and long skirts. It all just came together and looked amazing together!
Mark and the couples dog Jet wore matching boutonnieres made with a white rose, black privet berry and eucalyptus greenery!
Mark and Kaley got married on a lovely little beach at The Nautical Beachfront Resort! It was so much fun to see the groom’s mom, groomsmen and the groom arriving to the ceremony by Jet Ski! Was also super cool to see the bride and her bridesmaids pulling up in a boat! Love when couples incorporate what makes them them in their wedding! So special! Something I’ll never forget! To mark the ceremony site stood a bamboo pole arch that I decorated with two floral pieces. Both pieces were made with white roses, thistle, privet berry, jasmine vine and a variety of eucalyptus greenery. Lining the aisle on the chairs was a simple cluster of eucalyptus greenery with white roses that were tied with a white satin ribbon.
For the reception, Kaley decided to keep it simple for her centerpieces. For half of the tables we floated a single white rose bloom in a bubble bowl. The other half of the tables had bubble bowls with sand on the bottom and two varieties of small air plants resting on top of the sand. Simple, yet awesome!
Grateful to this awesome couple for the opportunity to grow as a designer while helping make their wedding a day they will never forget! Wishing these two a lifetime of epic adventures together!
