Andy and Katie had a beautiful Spring wedding at The Refuge in Lake Havasu. I knew I was going to love Katie when she told me her favorite color was all shades of purple and she wanted purple and white as her wedding flower colors. The other reason I loved her was because she was super easy to work with and pretty much loved any idea I threw at her!
Katie’s bridal bouquet was more of a one sided free from style bouquet made with lavender roses, white spray roses, purple stock, purple freesia, white ranunculus, white lisianthus and greenery that included dusty miller and both baby blue and silver dollar eucalyptus.
I won’t lie, I was a little scared to make Katie’s floral head wreath as all the others I’ve been asked to make have been babys breath head wreaths for flower girls! I was thrilled with how hers turned out and even more importantly so was Katie! The head wreath was made with white ranunculus, lisianthus, purple mokara orchids, babys breath and greenery that included ivy and seeded eucalyptus!
Katie’s five bridesmaids all carried smaller versions of her bouquet made in a one sided freeform style with lavender roses, white spray roses, purple stock, purple freesia, white ranunculus, white lisianthus and greenery that included dusty miller and both baby blue and silver dollar eucalyptus.
Andy wore a boutonniere made with a lavender rose, purple mokara orchid bloom and had both baby blue and seeded eucalyptus greenery. The groomsmen and Katie’s dad wore boutonnieres made with lavender spray rose buds, purple mokara orchid blooms and both seeded and baby blue eucalyptus. The sweet ring bearer wore a babys breath boutonniere, while the adorable flower girl wore a head wreath made with babys breath, lavender spray roses and purple and lavender streamers hanging down the back.
For the ceremony, the wedding pavilion front pillars were decorated with tall floral pieces made with dark purple larkspur, lavender spider mums, lavender roses and greenery that included both ivy and baby blue eucalyptus.
To welcome her guests to the reception, Katie had a welcome sign that was adorned with two floral pieces at the top right and bottom left corners. These pieces were made with white ranunculus, lavender roses, lavender spray roses and greenery that included ivy, baby blue, seeded and gunnii eucalyptus! These two pieces were so pretty and really made the sign stand out.
For the centerpieces Katie and I collaborated and came up with doing two different types, one tall and one short. Katie really wanted to use a lantern in the short centerpieces so that’s what we did. The short centerpieces were created with a floral foam ring and a lantern placed in the center. The floral arrangement was made with white oriental lilies, lavender roses, white lisianthus, purple mokara orchids and baby blue, seeded and gunnii eucalyptus. I was thrilled with how these turned out!! The tall centerpieces were made with white oriental lilies, lavender stock, dark purple stock, lavender roses, lavender spider mums, dark purple lisianthus and greenery that included baby blue, seeded, gunnii eucalyptus and ivy. These awesome pieces sat on top of a clear pilsner vase that had a lavender rose in the center. The tall arrangements really made the reception site with its tall ceilings look incredible!
Finally the cake! Katie opted for a three tiered semi naked cake that I decorated with a large cluster of flowers on the top and bottom tiers and a small one in the center. The flowers used to decorate the cake were lavender roses, purple freesia, white ranunculus and seeded eucalyptus greenery!
This was such a beautiful wedding and I’m so glad I was chosen to do it! I was thrilled with how everything came out and so was the couple! Win win if you ask me J
