Ginger was a bride very much like me, a planner! She hired me (and the majority of her vendors) over a year before her wedding date! She liked getting stuff done so it was off her to do list, something I can very much understand. Ginger was also a bride who knew exactly what she liked and wanted and the photos she showed me became her wedding reality! Her wedding at The Hotel Laguna in Laguna Beach was to have a plum and white color scheme and a romantic, elegant, beachy feel.

Ginger’s bridal bouquet was made with lavender roses, white garden roses, white Veronica, light pink astilbe, ruscus and seeded eucalyptus greenery. So simple, yet so lovely! Jake’s boutonniere was made to mirror Ginger’s bouquet and was made with a white roses, astilbe, ruscus and seeded eucalyptus greenery.

The bridesmaids’ bouquets were made with lavender roses, white garden roses, burgundy astilbe and both ruscus and seeded eucalyptus greenery. The groomsmen boutonnieres were made lavender roses and both ruscus and seeded eucalyptus greenery.

For the ceremony site Ginger wanted flowers all over. The chairs that lined the aisle had small floral clusters made with plum colored mini calla lilies, white Veronica, burgundy astilbe, both ruscus and lemon leaf greenery and were finished off with a purple bow with tails hanging down. The gazebo was decorated with a floral piece at the top of the gazebo and a large floral piece in urns on columns on either side of the stairs. The floral piece on top of the gazebo was made with dark purple hydrangea, white oriental lily blooms, lavender roses, purple and white lisianthus and a variety of greenery that included ruscus. The two large urn pieces were made with dark purple hydrangea, lavender roses, white oriental lilies, lavender hybrid delphinium, white snap dragons, purple and white lisianthus and a variety of greenery that included palm leaves for a beach feel. It certainly did look lovely out there!

The reception was held in the room downstairs that looks on to the ocean and sand, can’t beat that! The centerpiece look Ginger wanted was a low compact look in a cylinder vase. Ginger provided me with a purple/black cylinder vase and I filled them with lavender roses, plum dahlias and mini calla lilies, burgundy scabiosa, a touch of white wax flower and eucalyptus greenery. I was thrilled with how these came out! Very elegant and romantic!

The other pieces for the reception included Jake and Ginger’s sweetheart table, which re-used the piece on the top of the gazebo. We also re-used the large floral pieces on either side of the gazebo on the memorial table. I love re-using things! Saves money!! For the memorial table Ginger provided me with a heart shaped glass vase that I filled with white oriental lilies, dark purple hydrangea, lisianthus and greenery. Finally the cake! What a beautiful cake! I loved the bottom layer with the rose pattern! Stunning! To decorate the cake I decided simple was better and just used dark purple hydrangeas here and there. You can never go wrong with hydrangea!!!

I loved doing this wedding as my favorite color is purple, but more than that I really enjoyed making Ginger’s detailed vision come to life for her! Here is to their happily ever after!
