Chris and Michelle got married at the Chart House, Dana Point. I met Michelle while we were both working a retail job together and I’m thrilled that we have stayed friends ever since. Chris was originally from England so this wedding had people flying in from overseas as well as from around the country. Michelle and I had fun on collaborating on ideas for the flowers. In the end she left most of it to my discretion. The color scheme was blues and purples.

For Michelle’s bridal bouquet I used a dark blue hydrangea, purple roses and white mini cymbidium orchid blooms scattered throughout. Michelle LOVES carnations, so for her toss bouquet I surprised her and made an all purple carnation bouquet for her.

The bridesmaids bouquets were made with white roses and stem dyed blue dendrobium orchid blooms scattered throughout and finished with a collar of lemon leaf! I loved how the blue and while popped against the bridesmaids dresses!

Chris’ boutonnière matched Michelle’s bouquet and was made with a lavender rose and a white mini cymbidium orchid bloom with plumosa greenery and a beargrass loop. The groomsmen and dads wore boutonnières made with stem dyed blue dendrobium orchids with plumosa and beargrass loops and white dendrobium orchid blooms with plumosa and a beargrass loop.
The moms and grandmothers wore wrist corsages made with a lavender rose, white mini cymbidium orchid blooms and buds with a blue/purple bow.

For the ceremony I adorned the chairs along the aisle with a mixture of purple and blue dendrobium orichid stems and beargrass. I love how fun and beachy this looked. The arch piece was created with light blue hydrangea, white oriental lilies, purple roses and white dendrobium orchid stems and blooms. What a beautiful topper against the ocean backdrop.

For the reception Michelle and I chose to do two looks for the centerpieces. The first look being a more simple look with shells and light blue hydrangea submerged in a cylinder with a floating candle on top. The second look was a more elegant bubble bowl with shells inside topped with a light blue hydrangea, purple roses and white dendrobium orchid blooms scattered throughout.

I loved creating the flowers for this special occasion in my friends life and loved how they perfectly complimented the beachy feel of the Chart House’s harbor location.
